Halo Infinite 2025 and Historic Player Count Across Platforms
Here is a breakdown of the active player counts for Halo Infinite on Windows and Xbox in 2025. Keep in mind that these estimates are approximations based on community analysis, Steam data, and historical trends of Halo titles, and not official numbers from Microsoft or 343 Industries.
1. Xbox (One and Series X/S)
In 2025, the player count on Halo Infinite has seen a noticeable decline compared to previous years. Based on available data and estimates, the daily active player count for Halo Infinite on Xbox is believed to be in the range of 10,000 to 20,000 players, with spikes observed during special events or updates.
The game reached a peak of 162,000 concurrent players on Xbox within two and a half years of its launch. This is considered the highest for an Xbox original game, surpassing previous record-holders.
2. Windows (PC and Steam Deck)
Similar to Xbox, there has been a significant decline in the number of active Halo Infinite players on Windows-based devices in 2025. As of January 2025, the daily average of online players dropped to around 18,000, while the monthly average remained at over 60,000 players. Latest data suggests that in June 2025, the player count peaked at 3,806, which is a gain of 161 players compared to the previous month. Although the game maintains relevance within the Halo community, data shows that demand among players is declining on Windows.
The all-time peak player count for Halo Infinite on Windows was 263,047 concurrent players. This was set during the game’s launch in December 2021 and remains the highest number ever recorded for Halo Infinite on the platform.
Halo Infinite Monthly Player Count for 2025
Halo Infinite’s monthly player count from January to May 2025 shows a considerable decline, which can be attributed to the game remaining exclusive to Microsoft-based platforms.

What Is Halo Infinite?
Halo Infinite is the sixth instalment in the Halo series, and follows up on the events of Halo 5: Guardians (2015). The game’s campaign is led by human supersoldier Master Chief, who is fighting against a mercenary organization called the Banished on the open world of Zeta Halo. Unlike its predecessors, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer sections are free-to-play.
In the game’s story mode, Master Chief combats the Banished with a mixture of vehicles and weapons. Players also have access to special equipment, such as the Grappleshot, which pulls the Chief towards his foes, retrieves items, and helps him traverse across the terrain.
Halo Infinite’s campaign mode has a semi-open world structure where players are allowed to freely explore parts of Zeta Halo, which are segmented from each other and passable only after clearing various objectives. The Chief is tasked with capturing Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) scattered across the environment by defeating enemies. Other missions include eliminating “high-value targets”, rescuing Marine Squads, and destroying the Banished’s propaganda towers. Completing these objectives earns the player Valor, which is used to buy weapons and vehicles that the Chief can call in from FOBs.
The game’s multiplayer mode features a “deathmatch”, “capture the flag”, and other campaigns in the standard 4v4 and Big Team Battle variants, which can host up to 24 players in a single match. Players can use Ability Pickups to activate special powers like dashing, active camouflage, and repulsor charges to knock out enemies, projectiles, and vehicles. These abilities can only be utilized a limited number of times during each campaign.
Halo Infinite also has a training mode where players can test their weapons in weapon drills or play against computer-controlled bot players in practice matches. Furthermore, players can customize their Master Chief avatars’ armor and weapons, which are unlocked throughout the game or can be earned through free or paid battle passes.
