Lit Protocol, the decentralized key management and private compute network that works through automation, announces the launch of its native cryptocurrency. Tickered as $LITKEY, it will be deployed on Base via Aerodrome on October 30th, 2025.
The arrival of LITKEY succeeds the early access of Lit’s Vincent, a framework that allows the use of AI agents to manage the network, and it is ahead of Lit’s v1 mainnet Naga’s launch.
LITKEY to Launch on Base via AerodromeFi on October 30th
LITKEY, which serves as a governance and payment token of Lit Protocol, will be launched on October 30th, 2025, at 00:00 UTC. Around 1% of the total supply has been deposited on Aerodrome to attract votes, which will eventually determine the value of these tokens.
Aerodrome’s Aero Ignition, also known as Community Token Launch, allows community-driven token launches on the Base blockchain. The community members can vote on decision-making through Aerodrome’s veAERO, a token that represents voting power. The first token to release was Syndicate (SYND), and LITKEY’s launch will make it the second token to launch via Aero Ignition
The LITKEY/WETH liquidity pool has been seeded, allowing veAERO holders to vote and decide how much Aerodrome emissions to direct into the pool. The voters will be able to claim LITKEY according to their voting proportion. Everyone can contribute to the liquidity from October 30th. The announcement was revealed by Lit Protocol through its official X (Twitter) handle.
According to Lit Protocol, this launching method is the most transparent and decentralized among the currently available methods. “It’s the most transparent and fair way to price and govern a network that’s already generating value and solving problems others haven’t,” the protocol tweeted.
What is Lit Protocol
Lit Protocol is a decentralized network that allows web3 developers to secure their blockchain activities. It allows private data management through its advanced security and provides automation through its autonomous AI agents. The protocol is currently in its beta test version, and the mainnet will be launched soon.
What is LITKEY? Tokenomics Overview
LITKEY, the native asset of Lit Protocol, will primarily act as a “work token.” It will enforce network security and compensate the participants who maintain the liveness of the network. It will also be used as a protocol governance token and a payment tool. The token allocation details are provided below:
- 41.1% – Tokens allocated to ecosystem incentives.
- 16.0% – Tokens for Lit investors.
- 29.1% – Tokens reserved for the Lit Protocol development team.
- 4.8% – Airdrop for ecosystem builders, testnet node operators, integration partners, and quest participants.
- 6.0% – Tokens allocated to public sales.
- 3.0% – Tokens allocated to private sales.
How Much Could LITKEY Be Worth When It Hits the Market? Launch Price & Listing Details
Due to the community-driven nature of the launch, the price will be discovered only after the veAERO voting process and the community launch. Following the launch, a Coinbase decentralized exchange (DEX) Integration will begin, which allows millions of Coinbase users to access the token. Then, coordinated exchange listings will begin. As of today, no official dates have been set regarding the CEX listings.
Could LITKEY Be the Next Big Token? Price Prediction
LITKEY token has strong fundamentals, and Lit Protocol’s reputation as an ecosystem that supports hundreds of teams and manages over $420 million in assets will act as a catalyst for LITKEY’s bullish scenario. The tokenomics, with a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens, will contribute to demand in the long run if the ecosystem enhances its success.
LITKEY Airdrop Commences Soon for Eligible Users
Following the launch, LITKEY will be airdropped regularly to contributors such as ecosystem builders, testnet node operators, integration partners, and quest participants. Node operators must stake LITKEY early to participate in the network.
When Will Lit Protocol’s Mainnet Arrive? The Naga Network Launch Date
Naga, Lit Protocol’s mainnet, will be launched soon after the arrival of LITKEY, probably in November first week. LITKEY should be launched before the arrival of the Naga mainnet because the token is required to select the node operators. You can follow Lit Protocol’s official X (Twitter) handle to stay updated about key dates.
