Trump Mobile T1 Phone and the 47 Plan: Everything You Need to Know About the MAGA Phone Network

On June 16, the Trump Organization unveiled its latest venture, a wireless business called Trump Mobile that includes a 5G mobile phone plan and a much-anticipated, gold-hued T1 8002 smartphone, set to launch in September.

Donald Trump Jr, CEO of the company and eldest son of US President Donald Trump, announced that the new mobile service will offer a $47.45-per-month plan with unlimited talk, text, and data, and no long-term contract. According to the Trump Mobile website, it will also include roadside assistance, telehealth, and pharmacy benefits. The mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service will tap into existing frameworks of the three major US wireless carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

The price of the wireless service is a nod to the President’s two terms in the White House, with 47 a reference to Trump’s current presidency and 45 signifying his first term in the Oval Office between 2017 and 2021.

Trump Mobile also announced the T1, a gold-colored Android smartphone that is currently available for pre-order. Spec sheet for the device shows a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, triple camera setup, a 5,000mAh battery, 256GB storage, 12GB RAM, and Android 15 out-of-the-box.

In this blog, we will cover everything you need to know about Trump Mobile’s 47 Plan and the upcoming “Made in America” T1 smartphone.

The Trump Mobile 47 Plan

Trump Mobile Plan

The 47 Plan is a $47.45 monthly mobile service plan featuring unlimited 5G talking, texting, and up to 20GB of high-speed data. It provides nationwide coverage on leading US carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, with support for international long-distance calling to 100 destinations across six continents.

Furthermore, Trump Mobile offers protection and coverage for all unlocked devices signed up to the 47 Plan, along with roadside assistance by Drive America. It also sports Telehealth and Pharmacy benefits with “unlimited” 24/7 all-year-round mental health and wellness service via video or phone, and a Prescription Discount Program. The company’s customer service center will be operated out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Those who wish to join Trump Mobile can do so using their existing phones, and the company will supply the SIM card. Interested customers can check eligibility by entering their device’s IMEI number on the Trump Mobile website to see if it is compatible with the 47 Plan and its services.

The T1 Phone

T1 is a $499 Android smartphone that Trump Mobile plans to drop later this year. The company says that it is a “sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States”.

The device features a 6.8-inch AMOLED 120Hz refresh rate display with a 16MP hole-punch selfie camera. It has three cameras on the back, including a 50MP main lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The T1 will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast-charging, 256GB internal storage as standard, and 12GB of RAM. As for security, it will have an under-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition.

Renders show that the T1 will supposedly bring back two features that many smartphone users have been craving for: microSD support for expandable storage and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired headphones. It will run on the Android 15 operating system but with a Trump or America-themed skin, instead of stock Android.

The T1 compares to the Asus ROG Phone 9 spec-wise, and has a similar screen, storage, RAM, operating system, and battery size as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

As for network support, the T1 will be powered by “Liberty Mobile”, a freedom-themed mobile virtual operator (MVNO) based on the T-Mobile network. Coverage and cell service on Trump Mobile should be similar to other MVNO carriers in the US, such as Mint Mobile, Metro, and US Mobile.

The Trump Mobile T1 8002 smartphone is expected to hit the market in August, according to the press release, or in September, as per the website. It can be pre-ordered with a $100 down payment and will work on the T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon networks.

Will the T1 Phone be Built in the United States?

In the press release for its new wireless service and smartphone, the Trump Organization noted that the T1 phone will be “designed and built” in the US, echoing President Trump’s “America First” agenda.

While the company did not offer any additional details about sourcing for the phone’s manufacturing, given the realities of the global supply chain, some or most of its components would come from outside the country, especially China. The Trump Administration is pushing manufacturers to move their facilities to the US to escape tariffs, even asking Apple to build its iPhones domestically.

However, smartphone makers based in the US depend on foreign countries to assemble their products, and this also includes those making cheaper, more affordable smartphones. Hence, Trump’s fever dream of an all-American-made smartphone looks grim under current circumstances. Trump Mobile could be sourcing the T1’s main components from India or China and assembling them in the US.
